• Bernard goes on the road and starts to commercialize cedar mulch in garden centers in the northeast.
• His brother in law owns and operates the shingle mill and bagging plant in the small border town of Woburn QC.
• Bernard and his wife Linda (and 2 young daughters) quickly grow the company and hire company sales people and 1 sales rep in NJ.
• By 2003, Atlantic is a medium size outfit with approx $10M in sales and ± 350 customers.
• It is a family run business.
• Fall 2003 Bernard’s brother-in-law sells the mill and bagging plant to Bernard. We are now fully vertically integrated.

• We re-locate the mill to Lac Megantic where there is a better pool of employees and better industrial park.
• Fall 2005 build a modern, state-of-the-art shingle mill and bagging plant under the same roof.
• It is a $6M project and the banks believe strongly based on past history and company performance.
• Bernard and Linda invest to modernize and improve productivity.
• Atlantic now has 75 employees at the mill and 10 others in the sales office.
• It is still a family run business.
• By 2006 it is becoming clear that the housing market in the USA is declining and various factors like fuel increases and poor exchange rates align to produce one of the worse years in Atlantic’s history.
• Unfortunate timing to build a new mill! The debt is overwhelming.
• November 2006 Atlantic seeks protection from its creditors to re-organize. Bernard finds friendly investors.
• 7 new investors are represented here today by Mr. Jean-Paul Floriot.
• By April 2nd 2007, Atlantic is under new ownership and completely out of its precarious financial position.
